GIA’s museum and Richard T. Liddicoat Library and Information Center (the largest repository of gem information in the world) teamed up to create an exhibit for bibliophiles and rockhounds alike. ‘Tablet to Tablet: Treasured Pages from Past to Present,” showcases more than 26,000 rare book pages from around the world on gems, minerals, and natural science dating back to the 15th century. The exhibit encompasses the development of gemology, crystallography, jewelry manufacturing and design, valuation of gemstones and precious metals, diamond mining and more, with many books that have never been on display before.
